Solar-powered bra with photovoltaic cells and refillable drink pouches

Japanese lingerie designer Triumph International Japan has designed an incredible solar powered bra, with built in photovoltaic cells that can power an iPod or cell phone.

It is also equipped with refillable plastic drink pouches that can be filled with your favorite drink, allowing wearers to quench their thirst without having to buy and then throw away water, juice and soda bottles.

In an effort to jump on the bandwagon of seeming to be environmentally conscious, some companies have to get pretty creative with their product line, and this one is really creative. Unfortunately, it’s not very practical because most women can’t go trotting around town in nothing but a bra. Apparently, if you put a shirt on, the photovoltaic cell is covered up and can’t charge.

Sigh. When I was younger, we women were protesting, demonstrating and marching in the streets, demanding equal rights and talking about burning our bras. Now we are supposed to be “recycling” our shirts so that we can expose our bras to the sun while we dance to pop-tunes and chat on the mobile.
